PACKAGING, SYSTEMS, BRAND IDENTITY
AMAZON PILL PACKAGING
Packaging system complementing Amazon's foray into the pharmaceuticals space.

PROBLEM:
Amazon's acquisition of PillPack gave it the ability to deliver prescriptions nationwide — but delivery only solves getting medication to someone's door. What happens after it arrives is a different problem: multiple prescriptions, different schedules, no system for storing or organizing them. Pharmaceutical packaging also carries an unusually high burden. It has to be immediately legible under stress, by people who may be unwell, and it has to make a technology company feel trustworthy in a category where trust is the entire product.
APPROACH:
I built a branding system designed around storage and organization rather than just containment, including an icon language to carry information quickly without relying on dense label copy. I then printed and physically constructed the packaging, and art-directed the photography myself from a lightbox at home — taking the project from brand system through working prototype to final imagery.
OUTCOME:
A complete packaging system: identity, icon set, structural design, and physical builds, executed end to end. Designing the brand and then having to actually build it surfaced the constraints a flat mockup would have let me ignore.
